May 31 2007 - Service Pack 3
Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
New skins added: Vista, XP, Simple, Majestic
In edit mode it was possible to overwrite pages by clicking the browser back and forward buttons.
Conditional content in PDF manuals now generated based on the selected skin (not the PDFManual skin)
If content spanned over multiple pages, PDF page numbering was incorrect.
The text 'helpconsole' will no longer appear in the title for 'noframe' static help systems.
Errors occurred on unix servers because link references did not match the case of actual files.
Keywords were not being removed from the [keywords] table when pages were deleted.
'Access denied' message now appears if a user loads the 'createproject.aspx' while not logged in.
javascript error occurred when selecting custom font color.
Error occurred if a page was renamed and special characters were included (eg: desktop%2B)
If the 'public' username was assigned a specific skin, PDF manual not generated properly.
Bookmark hierarchy not correct in PDF manuals. Blank node was included under parent nodes.
Variable values were not included in dynamic or static searches.
Spaces removed when variables used in page names.
Flash animations did not run for static help systems created without frames.
'show index' link produced javascript error when vista skin selected.
Generic error occurred when installing HelpConsole on a server without IIS installed.
Pages were occasionally overwritten when using the undo (ctrl-z) command.
Errors occurred if a space was added before or after a new project name.
When lite edition selected in eval mode, the edit checkbox was still visible.
If any pages contained a backslash character, a javascript error occurred when searching in static help system.
February 9 2007 - Service Pack 2.2
Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
If there were special characters such as the colon, the 'search children' variable produced an error.
The upload size limit can now be defined in _editor.aspx for the following: MaxImageSize, MaxFlashSize, MaxDocumentSize, MaxMediaSize
Javascript error no longer occurs when skin editor loaded.
HelpConsole Administrator form now appears when the software is installed. It explains how to create a virtual directory and assign permissions. This was mainly added because a virtual directory cannot be automatically created in Windows Vista.
If IIS server or service was restarted while HelpConsole was running, an error occurred when saving.
Example project was updated
Flash animations no longer need to be clicked to activate.
January 23 2007 - Service Pack 2.1
Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
On certain computers, the javascript error "Parent.frame_contents.Form1.txtcurrentid is null or not an object" appeared when in live mode.
The javascript error: "Treeview is undefined" occasionally occurred when logging in.
Help pages in the contents are now represented with a page icon instead of a round question mark.
The error "cast not valid" occurred when publishing a static help system if there were sub folders added to the "images" or "Docs" folders.
The following system variables were added: "Parent Page Link", "Popular Child Pages", "Search", "Search Children"
User defined variables were not displayed in the 'Insert Variable' list
Hidden pages were displayed in search results and system variables such as "child page list" and "Sibling page list"
Sticky notes are now hidden using the style "display:none" because in some cases they were not visible in design mode.
If a help project was embedded in an iframe, javascript errors occurred.
In some cases anchor link urls were converted to an absolute URL when saved
Search results were being cached, so if a page was deleted, it was still displayed when a search was performed.
The page scrollbar was not displayed when a static help system was published without frames.
Dec 6 2006 - Service Pack 1.6
Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
The filesystemobject is no longer used to create folders. Some antivirus products such as Mcafee block calls to the filesystemobject.
Page load speed increased.
Speed increased to publish a static help system.
In live mode, pages were loaded twice if a link was clicked within a page. This also caused users to have to click the browser back button twice to get to the last page.
The index in live mode and published static help was not sorted alphabetically.
The product edition was not displayed correctly on the about form.
Keywords in the 'HelpConsole 2007' help system have been updated.
After entering an activation key, an error occurred when the software is restarted.
User defined variables can now be inserted in contents and keyword index.
Search results were blank when performing a search in 'HelpConsole 2007 help'. This was caused by a blackslash in one of the pages.
Variables can now be defined by skin.
