Backing up Your Project
Follow the instructions below to create a backup of a help system project.
1. Run HelpConsole 2007 to display the startup form. Click here for more information about running the software
2. Click the help system project in the list that you wish to backup.
3. The selected help system project will be opened. It may be opened in live mode or edit mode depending on whether you're currently logged in. If the project was opened in live mode then click "Login". Type "Admin" with no password (assuming that 'admin' does not have a password).
4. Click the tools button.
5. Click 'Backup Project'
6. The help system project will be compressed into a single file. A link will appear indicating that the backup file was created successfully. Click the 'Click here to download..' link to download the backup file to your harddrive or your network.
7. When the 'File Download' form appears, click 'Save'
7. Next, specify a folder to save the backup file to.
8. This project backup can be restored at any time by clicking 'Upload Project' on the startup form. For more information see Uploading a Project
Note: Because the backup feature compresses the help system project into a single file, the project can be moved around from Web Server to Web Server as desired. If nessesary the file can also be emailed to Extreme Ease technical support for troubleshooting.
